Frequently Asked Questions
How can I use my stem cells?
Your stored cells can already be used to support regenerative treatments for skin and hair today. When your cells are processed in the lab, they produce powerful regenerative signals (often called the secretome) that can help support skin renewal and hair follicle health. See our treatments page for more information.
Looking ahead, researchers are rapidly advancing regenerative medicine, studying how a person’s own cells may help repair or regenerate damaged tissues — including joints, muscles and ligaments, skin wounds, heart tissue, nerves, bones, and organs affected by aging.
How do I prepare for a cell collection appointment? Is it painful?
No, it’s minimally invasive and takes less than an hour. Ensure you have (at minimum) a small amount of hair (0.5 cm) for follicle plucking, wash your hair before the appointment, and limit your use of hair products and accessories.
Is there an optimal age to preserve your cells?
Advancements in technology have made it possible to preserve and utilize cells from a wide range of ages. Acorn’s lab technology is designed to correct for age and other patient variables. This process enhances the performance of your cells to produce beneficial exosomes, growth factors, and other matrix molecules. We have successfully created a secretome for clients as young as 14 and as old as 87.
Can this be used alongside hair transplants?
Yes, Acorn enhances the success of transplants by strengthening existing and transplanted follicles.
How long before I see results?
Most patients see visible improvement within weeks of their first treatment.
Is the collection process painful?
No, it’s minimally invasive and takes less than an hour.
